The warm up match for the world cup 2023 will start from Friday 29 September 2023. 10 teams will get a chance to play 2 official 50 overs warm up matches during this week. The official league matches of the world cup 2023 will start from 5 September 2023 onwards.
The matches of the tournament will be played at 3 different places in India and all 15 members of the team can field during the match.
On Friday 29 September, 3 matches will be played in which Bangladesh will face Sri Lanka in Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati, South Africa will face Afghanistan in Greenfield Cricket Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram and Pakistan takes on New Zealand in Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
On Saturday 30 September, 2 matches will be played in which India will play against England at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati and Australia will play against Netherlands at Greenfield International Stadium, Thrivunanthapuram.
On Monday 2 October, 2 matches will be played in which England will face Bangladesh at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati and New Zealand takes on South Africa at Greenfield International Cricket Stadium, Thrivunantapuram.
On Tuesday 3 October, 3 matches will be played in which Afghanistan will face Sri Lanka at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati, India face Netherlands in Greenfield International Stadium, Thrivunantapuram, and Pakistan takes on Australia at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
NOTE: All match will be played at 2:00 PM (IST).
The Indian team recently suffered a blow when the star all rounder Akshar Patel got injured and ruled out of the World Cup 2023. Akshar got injured in the match against Sri Lanka during the Asia Cup 2023 due to which he did not play the last few matches of the Asia Cup. Ravichandran Ashwin replaced akshar patel in the world cup 2023.
